Since 2007, Reigning Champ has been making bomb-proof, superior quality, beautifully designed athletic wear out of Vancouver, BC.
The brand grew out of founder Craig Atkinson's years spent in Japan and Canada producing and manufacturing garments for companies like Supreme and Arc’teryx. Having his own cut-and-sew factory, Craig easily transitioned his superior craftsmanship and creative control into his own brand.
Reigning Champ is renowned for its detail-oriented take on sweatshirts and fleece – a marriage of rugged Canadian design and a Japanese attention to detail born of Craig's years in Japan.
The brand's mantra is refreshing in the over-hyped world of streetwear: “respect details; master simplicity.”
Reigning Champ's performance collection – started in 2018 – applies the brand's trademark high-quality, simple basics to running and training.
Using highly technical Japanese textiles like Deltapeak and Dot-Air, these ruggedly constructed garments stretch and move, wick moisture, and regulate temperature. This is not “athleisure” that’s better suited for the couch than the gym. Every product is tested by fitness professionals and developed to meet the highest standards of performance wear. Every piece is loaded with low-key but purposeful details like body-mapped ventilation, UV-protective fabrication, and utilitarian flatlock seams.
The line is built to perform yet imminently wearable. Many pieces like the Engineered Training Tee or Hybrid Training Short can easily serve double-duty as elevated casual pieces for the weekend.
We at Future Proper are absolutely all about it.
